Our History

Montessori Club

Welcome to a brief summary of our story. I am Eliana Lugo, a journalist and specialist in Human Rights and IHL (International Humanitarian Law) by profession. I am married and the mother of Elena and Agustín, who are my greatest inspiration in this entire adventure of education. We are Hispanics educated in traditional education, perhaps with the best intentions, but not with the expected results.

When I became a mother, I wanted to change my daughter's concept of education and not continue generational patterns that would disrupt her learning processes. So I wanted to explore, read, and learn about various established pedagogies around the world.

After this entire process, we finally decided on Montessori. We started empirically, then gradually became more familiar with the entire philosophy and the step-by-step process required to be a Montessori family. Given the great need to learn and understand the method, I trained as a Montessori Co-Guide. This was a wonderful experience that allowed me to heal my inner child and be able to carry out my homeschooling process using the best tools.

We did three and a half years of homeschooling, with wonderful results. Then I was fortunate enough to work as a teacher and learn about the effort each one makes to provide learning to the children who attend their classrooms. After ten months, we decided to return home and continue our homeschooling, but this time with more children in our life project, now called the "Montessori Club."

In the blink of an eye, my life changed. One day I was a happy little girl running through the streets of my town with my friends. When I looked to the side, I became a professional. After working doing what I most desired, I became a mother, and in the blink of an eye, I was a teacher and mother to my daughter, giving her the best.

And now I'm here, grateful to those who have seen my work and trusted in every idea I've tried to bring to life. At 33 years old, I can tell you that I've achieved every one of my goals, that every step we've taken has been wonderful, and everything has led us to fulfill our goals in the education of our daughter and future generations.

Montessori Club was born from a wonderful experience between mother and daughter, connecting us from the womb to the present day. Elena has become my teacher and guide to better fulfilling my role as a mother every day.

Together, we have created a wonderful world of learning and fun, aimed at parents and their children, so that together we can identify skills and virtues for early development, following the recommendations of Montessori pedagogy.
